Behind the Lens

In photography, lenses act as gateways to both reality and illusion, shaping how we see the world through reflections and mirrors. The lens distorts, amplifies, or softens what we capture, transforming the scene into a simulacrum - a representation that’s never quite the same as the original.

Capturing motion and slowing down.

I always enjoyed the craftsmanship of sketching and drawing with graphite pencils and china ink. In our busy world, we very rarely have enough time to sit down and appreciate the slow process of creating a piece of work on a blanc paper. We are tacted, fast paced to match our technology and machine driven world, which I love and am a part of with great enthusiasm. The way of least resistance to embrace and connect back again to the creative process materialised for me in photograph. I can experience the perfect balance between the fast paced streets in vibrant cities and myself, taking a step back and slowing down, coming to a halt.

I hope you will feel and experience the same reflectiveness and slowing down through my vision and photography which I am sharing with you.
